In January, Shawn Harkey and Janet Frongillo represented RCA at the 26th Annual Retina Fellows Forum in Chicago, a premier event that brings together second-year vitreoretinal fellows from across North America as they prepare to transition into practice.
They were joined by Dr. Christian Leal, Associate at Austin Retina, who delivered a compelling presentation to approximately 90 fellows. Dr. Leal shared his personal journey to becoming a retina specialist, why he chose Austin Retina and RCA, and the value of practicing within a collaborative and supportive network.
Since its inception, the Retina Fellows Forum has welcomed more than 1,700 vitreoretinal fellows, many of whom are now practicing physicians within the RCA network. The meeting is organized by leaders from the American Society of Retina Specialists, including RCA physicians Dr. Carl Awh and Dr. Margaret Chang.
Fellows Forum is a high-energy and collaborative event that celebrates fellows as they complete their training and prepare to embark on the next chapter of their careers.
